Scouting Reports for the 2016 Giants: San Jose Giants Prospects

Hello everyone and first of all, Merry Christmas to all of my kind readers! It's been a good Christmas for me as my family went on a trip today. How's your Christmas going so far? By the way, I have added batting hand/throwing hand on the profiles as I have forgotten to put it in previous scouting reports. I'll get to it right away.

My gift to the readers reading right now is my scouting reports for the San Jose Giants. It is on par with Richmond in terms of the excitement to write about as there are plenty of good prospects to scout on and some of the players that we might see in AT&T Park might've had a taste of playing for the San Jose Giants this year. I will highlight here several of the top prospects in the system as well as some tidbits on selected players that are not top prospects but sure gets my attention.

The Top Prospects of the San Francisco Giants in 2015: Tier 3

Welcome to Tier 3 of my top prospects. This is going to be the hardest list that I have ever done. A lot of guys are really eligible to be listed under or over Tier 3 but I am feeling good on this list that I put up. There might be some exclusions that I have forgotten again. This also shows how deep the Giants farm system has become. Not a lot of top-shelf, future franchise-changing prospects, but a lot of contributors that can have a significant impact on the Major League roster.

Note: All of the videos that I have placed on my posts are the videos that the players I feel have the best angle to look at.

Out In Front: The Eddy Martinez Signing + Something Extra

In a pretty surprising fashion, the Giants, yes, the Giants, not the Dodgers, the Reds, and any other team, the Giants, signed Eddy Julio Martinez, the Cuban outfielder who has been flying off the radar since July 2, with Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com first to report and Mr. ogc first to notify me.

Martinez signed for $2.5 million, waaaaay less than what I have predicted, Kiley McDaniel of FG and pretty much everybody had expected which is $10-11 million. I was pretty shocked to see him sign to the Giants for so cheap when the Dodgers can offer him triple of quadruple that amount of green stuff. It is even less then half of the money that the Giants paid for Bahamanian prospect Lucius Fox (enough with the Batman puns) of $6 million, penalties not included. I followed Eddy on his Twitter account for about a week ago or so when it was still got like 10-20 followers (MLB Pipeline followed him 2 days ago if I'm not mistaken), and I noticed that you look closely on his profile picture, he's donning the Giants workout shirt and Giants workout shorts, which is some premonition that the Giants are probably the favorites to sign the Cuban defector but there's also the cover photo of him donning a Pirates shirt but reports weren't saying that the Pirates are players for him so there's that.

Scouting Report for the 2015 Giants Part 9: Johnson & Johnson

After not doing this thing for more than a month, I'm back to the thing that I really love, scouting prospects! I finally have some time to do this thing without a lot of school-related stuff to hinder me from doing it. I'm telling you, I'm missing just watching a flurry of videos, reading other reports from a lot of established sources like from FG, BA and MLB.com and a lot of other minor and major blogs and websites, and doing a little bit of think tanking myself to say my opinion about the prospects that I am making a scouting report on. It took me almost a full day just to scout 2 people because I want to make sure that I want to be accurate and to assure the readers are getting the best information that they can get.

I could say my scouting reports this year have come a long way from just scouting the top prospects to scouting some diamonds in the rough and the always underdogs of prospects in the system. It's been to part 9 now and I'll be talking about Chase Johnson and Jordan Johnson, a couple of righty pitchers that are making buzz in the Giants prospect hounds and even minor league communities. If you forgot how I do stuff in scouting, check on my previous scouting reports and I put their FG profiles if you click their names and the 20-80 scale that's pretty much the standard grading system for prospects.
